Welcome to Rasdhoo Atoll – The heart of Maldives! Rasdhoo Atoll is the capital of the Alif Alif Atoll administrative division. The local island is majorly known for its local Maldivian culture and recreational watersports like scuba diving and snorkeling.
Top Things To Do In Rasdhoo:
- Go scuba diving.
- Go snorkeling.
- Taste the Maldivian staple food.
- Go night fishing.
- Visit the sandbank.
- Take drone shots/Underwater pictures.
- Visit the Bikini beach.
- Go shopping!!
Where To Stay and How to Reach Rasdhoo?
- Choose a local island to stay on.
- Choose the window seat on your plane.
- Enquire about transport from Male to your island.
I couldn’t ask for more during my first ever international trip – I saw a world that I never knew existed, became a PADI certified Open water diver, ate the traditional Maldivian cuisine, flew a drone, went fishing, and did so much more. Quickly jumping back to the list:
1.Choose A window seat on your plane:
Ensure you select a window seat at least once, either while traveling to the Maldives or traveling from the Maldives.
You don’t want to miss this!!
Where To Stay In Rasdhoo And How To Reach?
2.Choose a local island to stay on:
Two types of islands in the Maldives:
- Resort Islands
- Local Islands
These islands are exclusively dedicated to resorts. They have everything from alcohol to private swimming pools. I didn’t opt for these resorts as they are very costly. The per-night cost for these resorts, on average, starts from Rupees 1 lakh and above. I felt I could do a hell of a lot of things during traveling with the cash I can save just on my stay by opting out to stay in these resorts.
On local islands, you could stay in excellent hotels and experience the local Maldivian life. I choose to remain in the beautiful island, Rasdhoo- The heart of Maldives!
3.Enquire about transport from Male to your island:
Generally, the resort you book would book your transport from Velana International Airport to your resort. In my case, I stayed at Palm Residency, which my scuba diving center itself arranged, and they took care of my transport.
The time taken to reach Rasdhoo Island: 1.5 hours.
Water bottles, Sea-sickness bags
To know more about how to travel from Velena International airport, check out our blog here.
4.Go Scuba Diving!
Scuba diving is an underwater sport. With self-contained underwater breathing apparatus and some training, you can become one of the beautiful fishes and swim with them underwater.
I took my scuba diving session from Jerry through his PADI-certified scuba diving center called Jerry’s Dive Club. I am so grateful for them, as they took care of everything- from planning my dives to my accommodation. They also gave me a handsome discount on all my scuba dives. From sharks to Manta rays, I swam with them all!!!
Well, you must be thinking I am a swimming champion of some sort to pull off this kind of sport. But the truth is, I don’t even know how to swim correctly. Yes, you don’t need to know how to swim to become a scuba diver!
Today I am a super happy PADI Open water scuba diver.
5. Go Snorkelling!
Snorkeling is a water sport generally done in shallow lagoons. You will be on the surface but can see the beautiful underwater world staying right on the surface.
What all did I see snorkeling at Rasdhoo:
Thanks to Jerry and his team, they selected the right spot for snorkeling, where I could see tons and tons of different fishes, stingrays, and I even saw a grey reef shark.
6.Taste the Maldivian staple food:
If you are in the Maldives or planning to go to the Maldives, you must try their staple Mas huni. They serve a thin bread (Chapati) with their famous tuna salad mixed with coconut dash. I am sure you will be amazed by how well they go with each other. Thank me later, when the juicy explosion blends in your mouth.
You can go day fishing or night fishing based on your travel plan. With Jerry’s dive club- I opted for the night fishing activity. It was an unforgettable experience.
Here’s me with a big Tuna that my dive buddy caught!
If you get the chance to choose day or night- go for night fishing!
My experience while night fishing:
I am sitting amidst the blue bioluminescent water filled with glowing planktons and the sky filled with twinkling stars, just thinking how lucky and grateful I am to be here.
8.Visit The Sandbank
Walk, jump and dance on the water and nothing will happen to you here!
9.Take drone shots/Underwater pictures:
Make memories for a lifetime by taking photos at the world’s most picturesque location. What’s visiting the Maldives without actually taking a beautiful drone or an underwater picture!!
10.Visit the bikini beach
The bikini beach is serene isolated, and I want to go back there…
Maldivian authentic shopping is something you can do only if you choose to stay on a local island. A few shops in Rasdhoo offer beautiful handmade wooden carving, traditional Maldivian clothes, and home decor items.
Travelling particular in India has been a perfect choice for the most of Westerners who have been living in the harsh climate of the Dubai, Doha etc. I’ve been in the Middle East for last one decade and have many westerner friends. Whenever we talked about India; they irresistibly told about their travel to India. Why living in Dubai or Doha or Abu Dhabi, an expat has an easy approach for many countries. But there are certain factors which may inspire you opt Trekking Holidays in India.
- In India you discover only people & culture
India is a very vast country and has a mixed culture that of different religion and cultures. This is not limited to the food type. If you any other country; most you will explore almost same food type and culture due to ethnicity. Expats from (Salzburg) Austria prefer trekking holidays while the adventure seekers from Germany prefer to come in group and participate in motorcycling holidays across Himalaya. So this is very obvious to choose a better holiday in stipulated time & budget. Adventurous holidays allow you to explore and beyond the natural limits as you can freely move off-road and take part in multiday activities.
- Duration of Holidays
You can opt bespoke holidays while you are traveling to India. All the Middle East cities are well connected to Indian cities and hardly take 3-4 hrs and two way flight tickets cost around USD 400 for one person. Ideally when you are planning value added adventurous holidays then always consider more than one week duration. It may cost you around USD 700 for one week excursions in comfortable stay including your food, stay and activities. But if you are a daredevil personality seeking multi day’s activities like Himalayan motorcycling holidays then you can quench your thirst for real adventure. You have a variety of options to explore whether it is winter or summer. Ideally you should avoid monsoon season as in last few years due to global warming; the weather changes unprecedented.
- Places to explore
Really it is hard for me to jot down all the tourist places of India. Even I would not be able to blend it concisely; if I try to do it. As South India is having entirely different landscape to the North India. North East is having tremendous opportunities of explorations. As already I mentioned about the duration and flight connectivity’s; I consider it as North Indian adventure tourism which is a perfect blend of religion, beliefs, food and culture. Presume that we all are made of beliefs what we receive from religion.
- Custom Fit Holidays
Ideally we organize adventures holidays in Himalayan states. We do organize the tours around the year but summer before monsoon is a heavenly season for trekking holidays, motorcycling holidays in north India. Flexibility is always lured by the humans. You have a complete option to choose your holidays type.
In the UAE, the trend of outbound vacations is like this. Most of Asians go to Eurasia, Europe (czech, Switzerland, Greece, Spain etc.) and if you see it closely. The Westerners go to Asia, South-East Asia, and African Countries etc. But it is hard to say that what of activities those follow while in vacations. In fact it would be more commercialize part if we segregate more tour categories and there will be only more commercial part. Instead of this, refer to only two major categories; one – luxury and second – adventure. The third may be an Experience. In the adventure holidays; we prefer to give you an exposure of culinary journey, cultural experience, yoga & meditation experience etc. We’re here to help you to arrange a walking or trekking holiday or motorcycling holidays that is just right for you.

Going on a sailing vacation is never really a breeze as you will be at the mercy of the elements of the sea. However, with careful planning you can make the most of your sea voyage to make it even more meaningful for you. Regardless of your intended destination, you’ll have a much better chance of ensuring the perfect sailing vacation if you adhere to these tips:
Book Your Trip Early
There are certain seasons of the year when yacht charters are fully booked. If you wait for the peak season to begin, there’s a really good chance that you might not be able to find a charter to your liking. As such, if you really want to ensure the perfect sailing vacation, you’d have to book really early. Choose a yacht charter that can give flexibility to your sailing schedule. Remember, if it turns out that there’s going to be a storm on the day of your trip, then you should have a contingency for that.
Get a Medical Checkup before Your Trip
Sure, sailing may not be as physically demanding as going to a winter mountain resort, but you’d still want to know if you’re physically fit to last several days in the open ocean. It is always worth remembering that you will be several miles away from land and from the nearest medical facility should anything happen to you. If you’ve got medications that you need to take, then bring these, too.
Bring Appropriate Clothes and Gear
Heading out to sea means you’ll be mostly basking in the sun. The wide open seas with its glittering waters can also reflect light back to you. It’s going to be quite hot out there in the sea so it’s best to bring appropriate clothes. If you’re averse to getting sunburn, wearing long sleeves and pants should do the trick. But if you’re looking for some good tan, then be prepared with your beachwear, even though you’re on board a yacht. It’s also wise to bring sunscreen, wide-brimmed hat, and polarized shades.
Check on the Weather before Sailing
As we mentioned above, you’re essentially at the mercy of the sea whenever you go on a sailing vacation. As such, it is important to have a clear understanding of the weather forecast for the next several days in the region where you will be spending your sailing vacation. While the captain and crew of your chartered yacht are fully knowledgeable about navigating over rough seas, it is always best to exercise caution to help avoid turning your dream vacation into a nightmare on the high seas.
Don’t Forget Your Travel Insurance
Whenever traveling, it is best to get an appropriate travel insurance. This should help cover for almost anything that you simply cannot predict while on vacation, especially on the seas. You’ll never know if you’ll be in need of medical attention because of sunstroke or severe sea sickness. It’s always best to stay prepared at all times.
Ensuring the perfect sailing vacation is relatively easy. Just adhere to these very simple tips and you’ll be on your way to a great holiday on the high seas.

If you’re traveling in a group, planning your transportation can be a hefty task. From booking said transportation to funding the trip and ensuring there’s ample room for your group and their belongings, planning group travel requires careful consideration. Traditionally, airplanes have been the preferred method of transportation for single travelers and groups alike. Many people don’t know of the benefits a charter bus can offer to a large traveling group. Discover what charter buses provide that airplanes can’t!
- Charter buses are more direct. Planes travel at a faster rate, but other factors cause the overall travel time to be longer. Traveling to and from the airport, checking in, and waiting to board and de-plane can add an extra 3-5 hours on to your trip, whereas taking a charter bus will arrange a convenient pickup location and drop you off at your final destination.
- Charter buses are more comfortab Airplanes are getting smaller and smaller these days. Some airlines even charge more per ticket if you want “extra leg room.” Charter buses typically have a leg room that spans 36” as opposed to the standard 30” or less leg room on a plane.
- Charter buses are more affordable. Airline ticket prices vary drastically depending on when you book. The closer you are to your travel date, the more your ticket is going to cost. While the cost of your travel depends on where you’re traveling to and from and the length of your stay, the average domestic airline ticket can cost $379 per person, whereas a charter bus ticket are nearly 40% of the cost.
- Charter buses make eating healthy easy. You’re not limited to what you can eat when you travel by bus. Charter buses allow you to bring your own food and beverage most of the time, and you can schedule pit stops as needed, putting you in control of what goes in to your body. With charter buses, it’s easier to avoid traditional fast-food airport options.
- Charter buses don’t come with baggage fees. You’re allowed to travel with two bags on a charter bus. There are no fees or rules associated with the bags, unlike an airline that will charge $25 for your first checked bag and additional fees for any bag after. Some airlines will even charge you for your carry-on.
- Charter buses are an eco-friendlier option than air travel. If you’re a consumer always looking for the environmentally friendly option, charter buses are the way to go. Buses emit the lowest levels of carbon dioxide per passenger mile than any other mode of transportation.
Next time you’re traveling in a large group, give charter buses a try! They offer a world of benefits and are ideal for group travel.

If you have never been to Parramatta before, it’s probably well-known for having a rugby league team named after a slimy river and being Sydney’s Western Center Business District. There are so many constant discoveries that Parramatta brings such as hundreds of high towers and Powerhouse Museum. However, it would always be the little things that make this part of the city a wonderful place to live.
The city of Parramatta is filled with diverse population composing of almost a quarter of a million people. Although, the central area is busy with the bustle of building, shopping, and dining, just five minutes out of the heart of Parramatta is a quiet suburbia. Here are some of the top seven things you can also love in Parramatta like how Australians also do.
1. Near to Sydney CBD
Parramatta is not really that far away from the city and there are different modes of transportations that can take you there. The easiest way is the 25-minute express train that leaves Central half an hour.
If you ever miss the train, don’t worry because it will only take five minutes for the next train to come. If you plan to drive your way there using your car, it’s just as bad as anywhere else during peak hours. Most Australians take the Parramatta River Ferry which will take you on a smooth and fun journey from Darling Harbour to Parramatta Wharf in just over an hour.
2. Great Food
Parramatta truly has some great eats that every first-timer should try. Look for Church Street and you’ll find two yummy restaurants. First one is the Singapore institution, Temasek, which is great if you love seafood and spicy foods. You should try their mountain of chili crab with a loaf of white bread on the side to sweep up the sauce. The other one is, Honey Persian, home to a fantastic biryani!
Want great coffee? Visit Circa Espresso. Also if you’re looking for great top pho, look for Pho Pasteur. For a fancy menu, then head over to Courtney’s Brasserie. Of course, after trying that fancy menu, you might want to try some legendary street food destinations such as Cabramatta, Fairfield, and Canley Vale which is a 20-minute drive away.
3. Cool Off at Parramatta Lake
Australia is already known for its pristine shorelines, so why not try taking a nice swim on a man-made lake? Hunts Creek was dammed in the 1850s for the area’s water supply but good thing is you can now swim in Parramatta Lake when the heat is scorching.
This is a great place to take your family with you. Most Australians, enjoy long walks and meaningful picnics with their loved ones here and they also roast some great BBQs as they admire the beauty of the lake on a hot day.
4. More Parks
This is the reason why most Australians are fit! Most of their houses are just a 20-minute walk of about 10 different ovals. Most of North Parramatta’s public parks have a range of various sports taking place every evening. If you simply enjoy nature and love being outdoors, you must visit the one and only Parramatta Park itself composing of 85 hectares of trees just next to the Parramatta CBD, together with the World Heritage-listed Old Government House in the middle and a modern unique playground next to Domain Creek.
5. Fun Community Events
There have been numerous times that Vivid and Sydney Festival shows and exhibitions take place in Parramatta. Also, the city also showcases the amazing Parramatta Lanes food and cultural festival, which is packed with the city’s smaller streets with foods trucks, pop-ups, and music. When winter is out, they would set up an ice skating rink in the park and a number of nights and weekends celebrating the multiculturalism of the city, including the energetic Parramasala.
6. Easy to Find Colonial History
Parramatta is Australia’s oldest inland European settlement which just makes colonial history easy to learn and discover. The Elizabeth Farm is must-visit for every tourist that visits the country, plus Parramatta is rich with various heritage-listed cottages, cathedrals, and hospitals throughout town.
There are multiple churches in the city–there’s also Buddhist, Hindu and Murugan temples and the local mosque. Parramatta is a great city that openly celebrates multiculturalism by having many fantastic excellent food options, diverse people and culture that every Australian is proud of.

The engineering chic is the fundamental fascination at the Taj Mahal. It is a novel mix of Persian, Central Asian and Islamic design. Features incorporate the sparkling marble checked floor, the four momentous turrets at the edges of the tomb’s plinth remaining at 40 meters high, and the strange center vault.
That is a genuine show-stopper, there are a scope of captivating optical impacts that can be set apart all through the building. For instance, the lettering of the Quranic verses around the entrances has all the earmarks of being uniform in stature regardless of how far it is from the beginning. The pietra dura fine art incorporates extremely perplexing customary components also. In a few places inside the building, there are in excess of 50 adorned gems in a space as little as 3 cm.
