The Philippines is becoming a hot destination for tourists because of the low prices, friendly people, and especially the beautiful country and beaches.
It can be a little intimidating traveling to Asia, when you find out that Asia has over 2,100 different languages spoken their!
The Philippines is a big part of that problem because it consists of over 7,000 islands and many of them have their own dialect that they speak with.
Luckily you don’t need to learn dozens of dialects, almost every filipino speaks Tagalog or Cebuano. So if you know a few essential phrases you can travel the beautiful country without a problem!
I learned this the hard way the first time I traveled to the Philippines I landed in Manila and jumped into a taxi with my friend. I was ready to see the country and had been studying the language for weeks.
I started talking to my taxi driver name Bong, and quickly found out that the words I had been studying were not going to help me get to the beautiful beaches of the Philippines I had been hearing about!
I soon learned that I did not need to know a lot of Tagalog words, just a few essential phrases to help me travel the beautiful country! Once I picked up the basics I was able to get around without a problem.
