Mausoleum of Akbar
Akbar’s Mausoleum is situated in Sikandra, nearly 10 kms away from Agra city and another of the places to visit. This is the only showcasing of pure Persian architecture in the whole of Agra. Though in a slightly dilapidated state now, it still manage to exude the glory of it’s bygone era with its numerous colorful enamel tiles. This tomb was made in memory of Allama Afzel Khal Mullah Shukrullah, a Persian scholar and poet. He also served later as Minister of Shah Jahan.
Tomb of Itmad-ud-Daulah was built by Mughal queen Noor Jahan in commemoration of his father Mirza Ghiyas Beg. He was also the chief treasurer (Itmad-ud-Daulah) of Mughal Emperor. This monument was made much earlier than Taj and was first of its kind of monument that was made over the bank of a river.

Here are five great places to enjoy a wonderful time with family or relax by yourself in Alicante .
1 – Take a trip up to Santa Barbara Castle : this stunning medieval fortress looks out over the city of Alicante and has all the things you would come to expect in a castle. You can cross over the moat, explore the dark dungeons, check out the cannons, and keep watch in the lookout tower. But the best feature of the castle is its price: it’s totally free to visit. Now that is a nice touch that we don’t often see anymore: a free attraction!
2 – If it’s long sandy beaches you are looking for, then there can be only one: Playa de San Juan . This beach stretches over four miles and has some of the finest white sands you will see in Spain . But keep an eye out when sunbathing, as the beach has an 18-hole golf course alongside it, and who knows the quality of golfers playing there! Of course you also have other beaches at your disposal, such as Playa de la Albufereta next to the city centre. It is, however, always packed and full of tourists, so if you want to enjoy yourself in a more calm way, Playa de San Juan is the perfect place.
3 – Alicante city centre is one huge attraction in itself. Just stroll through the historic streets where you can admire the architecture of the buildings; it’s a great way to spend a day of your holidays! A few buildings to keep an eye out for are St. Mary’s Church, the Town Hall, and the Chapel of Santa Cruz. In these old streets you can also enjoy the finest food during the day in the best bars and restaurants of the city, or party till dawn in the most famous clubs on El Barrio Street , placed in the heart of Alicante ’s Old Town .
4 – Don’t miss the amazing Island of Tabarca ! You can take a boat from Alicante harbour to this delightful paradise. The island is full of great activities for a great day of chilling at the beach, scuba diving in clear waters, exploring endless caves, or eating delicious seafood in the famous “chiringuitos“. It only takes 30 minutes to arrive on the island. You will be able to spend the day surrounded by charming nature and enjoy an unforgettable sunset over the ocean waters.
5 – Our last recommendation takes you away from the city centre and out into the surrounding area. Make the perfect day trip to Benidorm, located only 30 minutes from Alicante city. In Benidorm you could visit one of the most famous theme parks in Spain : Terra Mítica, where you will go back to the ancient Spanish civilizations and enjoy amazing roller coasters in a magical atmosphere, perfect for kids and adults. To make sure that you can make the most of city and its surrounding area, it is a good idea to hire a car in Alicante, allowing you to explore the region with convenience and at your own pace.

Have you ever tried to rejuvenate your skin in a “time machine”? Have you ever tried sleeping in a cave or in an enterprise located in a zone where there is strong radiation? Peculiar adventurous spirit is not needed when it comes to visiting some of the unusual tourist attractions that we have listed below. It is quite enough to be a bit curious and courageous in order to descend into the Paris’ dark and mysterious catacombs or wander around a Hindu temple where there are hundreds of terrifying rats.
The largest hockey stick
If you want to visit this pretty strange tourist attraction, you would have to go to Canada and more specifically – to Vancouver in the western province of British Columbia. The largest hockey stick was built in 1985 and has a weight of 28,118 kilograms. It was initially ordered by the Government of Canada as a part of Expo ’86, but after that it was sent as a gift to the citizens of the Cowichan Valley.
However, according to some, the largest hockey stick is located in the small town of Eveleth in Minnesota, USA but on July the 14th 2008 this 20-year battle for the title was won by the Vancouver hockey stick.
The Full-Scale Gundam is undoubtedly one of the strangest tourist attractions of Tokyo. You wonder what it really is? This is a great statue of an enormous robot located in the Odaiba Shiokaze Park. The RX-78 Gundam replica, which is about 60-feet tall has a head that can move and also emits light thanks to more than 50 different locations of its body. The statue was created in July 2009 on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of one of the most popular Japanese animation series – the Mobile Suit Gundam.
The Catacombs of Paris
Visiting the Catacombs of Paris can guarantee you really bad dreams for at least a month. This ominous attraction of the otherwise romantic Paris is a real network of more than 320km tunnels, criss-crossing the underground of the entire city, and their walls and ceilings are “decorated” with the bones and skulls of nearly seven million Parisians. The catacombs were created in the late 18th century, when the Government decided to transfer the already existing cemetery into the unused underground tunnels, which was taking up some valuable land for new construction.
The orange carnival in Ivrea
If you have accidentally got in Ivrea in February, do not rush to leave, because this is the time when the unique battle with oranges starts. It is a part of the so-called Orange carnival, which turns this small Italian town, located not near Turin into a battlefield for a three days, during which the main weapons here are oranges. This war recreates the legend according to which the cruel Marquis Guglielmo Monferrato, who ruled the city in the 18th century wanted to spend the night with a young Violeta – a beautiful bride, who opposed to him and killed him.
Do you know that one of the most terrifying places in the world is actually one of the strangest tourist attractions? The world-famous Chernobyl nuclear power plant in Ukraine and the city of Pripyat situated nearby have become a desired destination for visitors from different countries. We personally con not figure out what would motivate a person to go and visit such a place but it’s a fact that in the recent years this place attracts many tourist from all over the world, who wish to take the risk and enter the radioactive zone. Today the ghost town of Pripyat is nothing more than some empty buildings, abandoned after the Chernobyl disaster which happened in 1986.
Crazy Horse Memorial
The so-called Crazy Horse Memorial, which was carved out of solid rock and is dedicated to a dead Indian leader is one of the world’s strangest tourist attractions. The sculpture is situated in South Dakota and was begun in 1948 by Korczak Ziolkowski, who died in 1982 and the construction faded away despite the intensified efforts of his family to finish the job. Nowadays a foundation managed by Ziolkowski wife and children owns the entire complex. And if by any chance the monument gets finished, it will be world’s largest sculpture ever built.

It might sound like a joke (please forgive the pun) but many people know that Edinburgh has one of the biggest art festivals in the entire UK, if not the world. Thousands of people descend on the city every year to take in all of the sights and sounds which artists from all over the world present. While art is the predominant theme, there are also hundreds of comedians who attend, if only for the opportunity to show off their craft in front of some crowds. Although comedians might appear to be a strange lot, they are usually quite smart and live a fairly bohemian lifestyle. As a result, they might very well be the best people to ask about their impressions of Edinburgh, what to see and where to go.
The annual Edinburgh Arts Festival occurs throughout the month of August every year. Because it attracts visitors from all over, it can sometimes be a little confusing or disorienting to know where to go for something as simple as breakfast, lunch or even where to stay. Tim Clark of the Guardian newspaper decided to take matters into his own hands, interviewing the comedians that return year after year, so that they could voice their opinion on all of these matters. While the responses were not unanimous, of course, a pattern emerged.
So You Had a Late Night out
There is nothing like a nice full breakfast to recover from the revelry of the night before. One of the top recommendations was a simple and unassuming place called Snax Café. It is frequented by regular working folks, people who plan on putting in a hard day’s work and want to start the day probably with a satisfying breakfast. With a wide variety of items, Snax offers a little something for everybody and everyone is guaranteed to not go hungry. For a late brunch, many recommended a mobile cart called CheeseePeasee, which as the name implies specializes in all things involving cheese. While it might be difficult to locate, since it is mobile, the hunt appears to be worth the effort.
Far from the Madding Crowd
If all the activities at the Arts Festival start to wear you out and the crowds begin to feel like they are converging on you, many recommend taking a short ride out of town and going to North Berwick, a pleasant seaside spot just on the outskirts of Edinburgh. Sometimes, there is nothing like fish and chips in a quiet and undisturbed setting to soothe the soul.
Enjoy Freedom of Movement
No matter what time of year, there is so much to see and do in and around Edinburgh that you owe it to yourself to have the freedom to go wherever you want, whenever you want. The easiest solution is to use car hire in Edinburgh, where you will get a modern, clean vehicle at a great price, coupled with helpful attendants that will make your experience complete.

Gambling has always been a trademark of Las Vegas as a tourist destination. The activity has become more of a strength than a weakness for this place known over the years as the sin city. This does not mean though that your visit in Vegas should be limited to hanging out in casinos. Aside from gaming, there are also several things you need to look into so you can make the most out of your trip here.
Going beyond your gaming funds
Losing is part of gambling so we cannot say that your trip to Vegas is a fail when you did not win cash prizes. It’s more about being able to spend your funds wisely so you do not leave the strip empty-handed.
To avoid losing big at the gaming tables, it helps that you make it clear to yourself your purpose of gambling. If you are like other travelers who are only spending a few a day at the sin city, and would like to experience more of the Vegas than gambling in casinos, then never spend all your budget gaming.
What are you looking for in a hotel? Are you going to Vegas with the kids? Are you hanging out with your friends? Are you hoping to meet anyone you can spend your short trip with?
Find a hotel that satisfies your needs. If you are out with the kids, then it’s best that you choose a kid-friendly establishment complete with amenities that young ones would appreciate. More so, check out those that offer budget-friendly rates since you are going with a group.
Check out your options way before you push through with the trip. While there are several hotels you can choose from at the strip, it really would be double the hassle when you’re already tired and sleepy after a long day but still will have to evaluate lodging options.
Watch your alcohol intake
In Vegas, cocktails and beers just never run out. You could only imagine it’s their version of water there.
With that, be cautious especially if you really are not a heavy drinker or are allergic to alcoholic drinks. You need to be able to go home by yourself, or at least be able to find your way out of the gaming area.
You need to be able to think clearly to avoid betting mistakes, or prevent the house from increasing advantages over players.
Casinos supply customers with alcohol for a purpose. So do not just focus yourself to drinking while playing. Casinos are also an ideal venue for socialization. Once you empty your bankroll, then you can switch to getting to know people around and meeting new friends perhaps.
Beware of the climate.
Weather can be another issue when you’re in Vegas.
During summer, the heat is just scorching. You will need to bring water with you as you walk down the streets or go on a hike. During winter, meanwhile, you will need to cover yourself up in layers or you might be bitten by the frost.
Conduct research on the best season to go to Vegas so the weather would not have to interfere with you having fun. Gray finds Vegas even more interesting when she gets to enjoy kostenlose games out of her friends’ generosity.
